SAG HARBOR HOMEOWNER'S SMART INVESTMENT!

Ten years ago, Eric Rasmussen, a stage actor who lives in the West Village, inherited a ranch house in Sag Harbor, N.Y., on the South Fork of Long Island. He sold the house and most of the land, keeping for himself a 61-by-230-foot slice facing the water on which he built a second home.

The house is simple and discrete, with a few theatrical gestures that reflect Mr. Rasmussen's life as an actor, most notably the double-height kitchen, where Skatelite, a pressed paper-and-resin material made for skateboard parks, covers the floor and counters.

MID- CENTURY MODERN ATLANTA, GA

I checked out a Mid-Century 4 bed 2.5 bath home a couple of weeks ago. I didn't want to write about it because I was thinking about moving in! It is in the Northcrest Mid- Century subdivision that has lots of shade and trees. It is a great home on a beautiful corner lot that is almost an acre. The neighborhood is quiet and occupied by original owners and young creative professionals. It is about 20 minutes north of  Midtown. The sellers have added some nice designer elements like FLOR carpet tiles, glass tile backsplash in the kitchen along with modern cabinetry. Most Mid-Century homes are a labor of love and this one is no exception. The sellers have done a great job thus far, now it just needs a new owner to add the final touches! This home has loads of potential!
